Coder's Block: The Frustration of Endless Possibilities and Zero Deliverables

Image
You sit down at your desk, ready to tackle that complex coding challenge that's been giving you the cold sweats all week. You've read every blog post, watched every tutorial, and reviewed every relevant code repository. You're feeling confident, even a little cocky. You're about to write the best code ever, and nothing can stop you. Or so you thought. Hours pass. You've got nothing to show for it. Zero lines of code written. You've been consumed by the endless possibilities of how to solve the problem. You've considered every architectural consideration, weighed every pro and con, and even tried your hand at some freeform rock improvisation on your keyboard. But, alas, you've got nothing to show for it.  We've all been there. That feeling of frustration that comes from having all the right tools, all the right knowledge, and all the right intentions, but still not being able to create anything meaningful. It's a bit like being a writer with a bla...

The Feature Feud: How We Choose What Comes Next

Image
We're not just a team of tech wizards - we're also masters of the art of debate. Why? Because when it comes to choosing what features to roll out next, we're like a bunch of medieval knights jousting for glory. Only instead of horses and lances, we use our brains and... well, more brains. After all, we're all about brains, not brawn! So how do we choose which feature gets the royal treatment? It's not easy, folks. We've got a list of 100+ ideas that would make your head spin faster than a carousel at the county fair. But fear not, we've got a secret weapon: the power of persuasion. We put our best arguments forward, we plead our cases, and we try to win over the hearts and minds of ourselves (very difficulty 😲). It's like a game of chess, but with more trash-talking and less checkmate. Of course, we can't just choose any feature. We've got standards, people. We want features that will help us achieve our ultimate goal: world domination. Just kid...

Image
At Chat2Order, we pride ourselves on innovation and experimentation. We are constantly exploring new ways to improve the buying and selling experience for our customers and partners. However, we also understand that not all experiments will be successful. In fact, some of the most valuable lessons we learn come from our failures. One such experience took place at the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair , where we attempted to conduct a lucky draw for customers by scanning a QR code. Our intention was authentic, but unfortunately, there were frauds and scammers at the book fair who were cheating people.  We soon realized that our experiment had unintended consequences. There were reports of fraud and scamsters taking advantage of the book fair, using QR codes to cheat people. In fact, several complaints had been filed regarding the increase of fraud cases in the Kolkata International Book Fair (source: Anandabazar Patrika ). As a result, we had to make the tough call of not going t...
